Massacre at Lonesome Ridge by: Samantha Warren
5 STAR I found this book such a fun read. The mix of zombies in a western a very unique genre. The characters were real, likable and easy to relate to. They were perfectly described, almost like 3-D versions coming to life on the written page. I also love the writing style of Ms. Warren. From the first page I was hooked. The book flowed nicely, and with the numerous characters, I felt the author managed to keep the reader current as to what was happening at all times without getting lost along the way. Highly recommend this book to all and I can't wait to read the next installment. Two thumbs way up, and kudos to Ms. Warren for a great book. I received this book free of charge from the author in return for an honest review. "Anna Mary" by Amelie Rose
Anna Mary, a recent and childless widow, has returned to rural Ireland, where she was raised by her grandparents, for the first time in 40 years. There in the lane she had run barefoot down every day, her thoughts turn to moments and people from the past. The sharply poignant memories create for Anna Mary a pathway through her aloneness to the decisions she must make for her future. #FREE short story 'Anna Mary' by Amelie Rose goo.gl/HJOQlD #beezeebooks An Irish woman returns to her roots, "Rag Doll" by Rebecca Scarberry It’s on Jeremy Martell’s thirtieth birthday when something goes terribly wrong. Sugar and Spice and Not So Nice by - Janet McNulty
4 Star I totally enjoyed reading this book. A short, quick paced story. I found it entertaining, humorous and at times quite funny. The characters well developed, quite believable and true to life. Mellow Summers, her friend, Jackie, and a very determined ghost, Rachel, who used to live in the apartment Mellow and Jackie share. And all Rachel, the ghost, wants is help in finding out who murdered her. Easy enough . . . right? So who does she recruit to help her? Mellow! Mellow, aka Mel Summers, has her work cut out for her. Attending classes at college, working part time in a candle shop, a sexy neighbor, Greg, who quickly becomes a major love interest. And not to forget, Tiny and his band of biker buddies who take Mellow under their wing to try to protect her. Ms. McNulty weaves an entertaining story with just the right amount of twists and turns to keep you guessing and on your toes. I would highly recommend to all looking for a quick, fun cozy mystery. I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review. "Guilt Trip" by Maggy Farrell
5 STAR Very suspenseful atmospheric mystery. Full of twists and turns from the very first page until the last. I was surprised to find "Guilt Trip" was Ms. Farrell's debut novel. Very well written, and with characters so life-like and real. Poor Melissa, just sixteen years old, and suffering with 'survivors' guilt' after surviving the accident in which her mom died. Her dad - suffering from the tragic loss in his own way (sometimes putting his needs before those of his daughter.) Luke - (works and lives at Bed & Breakfast where Melissa and her dad vacation), and soon becomes a major love interest for Melissa. Then the voices, the horrific nightmares, the spooky caves . . . Ms. Farrell has woven a tale that will keep you on the edge of your seat, flipping pages to see what lies ahead. And the ending 'will blow you away'. I would highly recommend this book to all who love suspense with a paranormal aspect. Looking forward to reading more from this talented author. 'I received a copy of the e-book from the author in exchange for an honest review.' Turn a Blind Eye by: Marta Tandori
5 STAR Kudos, Ms. Tandori. . . Turn a Blind Eye has it all; a little romance, some suspense, and quite a lot of “I never saw that coming". It is a combination cozy mystery and suspense/romance, which I found quite delightful, a must read for all who love these three genres. This story entwines the lives of Libby, her sister Mia and her love interest, Dain - a salvage hunter off the coast of the Florida Keys, Jack and Beverly Donelly - the older couple that helped Libby through a horrible time in her life, and Rebecca a mother trying to understand what happened to her daughter. Add to the cast of characters - a drug cartel - missing drugs - a cold-blooded hit man . . . and even an innocent Amish family caught up in the middle of drug smuggling. Ms. Tandori has a great talent for creating suspense, and the story is a whirlwind of subtle dramas that come together well. The twists are timed well and the need to know just what is going to happen next makes this a good one for mystery lovers, the suspense is awesome. From page one - until the very end - Ms. Tandori has a way of lending details to the story that make it impossible for the reader to put the book down. Be prepared to stay up late - you won't want to stop reading - you won't be able to stop reading. Hide Untethered by: Jax Spencer
4 STAR Hide is a very quick-paced short story that will leave you wondering. Keegan, a terribly abused young man, seems to have been rescued by his father. But was he really rescued? Keegan's dad, Billie Roe, seems to be a bit different than the normal dad. . . Their cross country journey is filled with twists and turns, and suspenseful mysteries. A very well written story - kudos to Mr. Jax Spencer, for a terrific first book. Looking forward to more from his series. Gotta Find a Home: Conversations with Street People
by: Dennis Cardiff 4 STAR The name of the book drew me in. The thought of someone taking the time to look beyond what most people see---or more times than not, try to pretend not to see---drew me in. The book is a heart-warming look into the lives of these people, their trials, hardships, and various tribulations. The people themselves, each different in their own way, form relationships and strong bonds (and sometimes strong dislikes) with those they live among. But always there, you sensed the strong bond of family and oneness they have for one another. "There, but for the grace of God, go I" resonates from every conversation Dennis has with these new 'friends'. Some of these unfortunate souls are highly educated, come from prominent well-to-do families, or might have children and friends and family members waiting for them to return to the life they had---before they fell on hard times. This book was written in the form of a diary or journal, day by day conversations-mostly just dialog and very little back-story, which for me was a little hard to keep up with and have the power to hold my attention. I would recommend this book to everyone, on the merit that all of us could use a real dose of eye-opening reality of the world and all those who live among us! Belladonna From My Past
by: Rachael S Damar 4 STAR This book was a delight to read. Although a very short story, the author managed to pack it full of twists and turns. Jacob, a self-proclaimed womanizer, finally meets his match in Amber Rose. The ending didn't seem like a real ending to me---the author managed to somehow leave it open---leaving room for each individual reader to come to their own conclusions. Very well written. You couldn't stop turning pages until you reached the end. I would highly recommend to all who might enjoy a quick, light-hearted read. 08-07-14
So new at this dear friends and followers. Please forgive any mistakes I might make here. Been busy editing, editing, and more editing on "Twilight Images", my latest book. Published on Amazon on August 1, 2014 http://www.amazon.com/dp/BoomCSO921 Along with being busy doing all the above, been researching ways to promote book, trying to start a blog, and even experimenting here with trying to get a Web Page set up. And believe it or not, been busy working, too, on my next novel --- "Leave Yesterday Behind". For now I am still fairly early in the game. . . Novel is written and complete (all 475+ pages---typed on a typewriter). So now I am working on typing it into Word. Then editing, formatting, and all that good stuff. Wish me luck. . . Hugs to all, and God bless. . . |
